Just two days after he performed to a sold-out crowd, he was involved in a serious horseback riding incident that left him hospitalized with major internal injuries and required surgery.

Josh Ward had performed at KOKEFEST in Hutto, Texas as part of the first night of headliners. Just two days later, on Sunday, August 8th, 2021 – he was seriously injured following a horseback riding incident.
Ward in known for his no-holds-barred style of country music and is reminiscent of the 90s country style mixed in with Texas and Red Dirt. Truly, he has earned his keep as a singer, and his sea of fans is proof enough.
In a post to social media, Ward shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed with various hoses and monitors attached to his face and hand along with an IV.

Alongside the photo, he gave a brief explanation of what happened, writing: “Sunday August 8th, Josh was involved in a horse riding accident that resulted in serious abdominal injuries and internal bleeding. He underwent surgery to stop the bleeding, the surgery was a success. We are all very thankful for the surgeon and his team at Memorial Hermann who saved his life. Josh will be in the hospital this week and will require a few weeks at home to fully recover.”
Due to the accident, several upcoming show dates have been rescheduled and they will be announced soon.
At this time, they are asking for fans’ prayers for a speedy recovery.
