Country singer J.D. Graham is lucky to be alive after being involved in a serious car accident earlier this week.
According to a GoFundMe page created by his family, on Tuesday, February 24, Graham was driving along the interstate when a semi truck struck his vehicle, which then slammed him into another semi.
The aftermath of the crash was severe, with first responders having to cut Graham out of his car. He was initially taken to a nearby hospital but was then life-flighted to a trauma center in Texas.
He remains in the ICU while doctors run tests to determine the full extent of his injuries. His family shared that the singer has suffered a broken neck, multiple broken ribs, and a broken back.
Graham’s dog was also in the car at the time of the accident and unfortunately passed away.
His family is kindly asking for donations to help with Graham’s medical costs. His wife, Amy, is currently unable to work, having recently battled cancer and still dealing with related issues.
J.D. Graham Shares An Update To Fans From His Hospital Bed
A day after the terrible accident, Graham shared a video on his Facebook page to update everyone who was concerned.
In the clip, he’s lying in his hospital bed with his neck fully braced while someone records him.
“I’m barely alive here,” he says. “Thank you, guys, I’m still discombobulated but my daughter said that people are helping me out with some things…“
Graham continued, “I’ve got a broken back, broken ribs, broken heart. Dog died in the car, that was with me… It’s a tragedy, and thank you guys for the support, and I hope to see you guys soon. I’m not too worried about music stuff right now, at all, I’ve just got to get better. Just giving you guys an update, later, love you.”
In the video’s caption, his daughter wrote, “Dad wanted to make sure he personally gives everyone an update. The devil works hard but God works harder. Thank you for your continued support.”
As of now, the latest update on Graham is that he is managing his injuries, but once he is released from the hospital, he faces a long road of recovery.
He’s able to move his limbs, thankfully, but he will be unable to walk for a while. His family says he will need “extensive physical and mental rehabilitation.”
