Clay Walker Keeps The Cowboy Going
If you asked any longtime country fan to name an artist that defined the sound of country music in the 1990s and 2000s, Clay Walker‘s name would come up more than a time or two.
Over the course of his career, Clay has earned an impressive total of six number one hits. Just a few of those chart-toppers include “If I Could Make a Living,” “Live Until I Die,” and “What’s It to You.”
At age 49, Clay is still active as both a recorder and a performer. His last studio album, She Won’t Be Lonely Long, was released in 2010, and climbed to the fifth spot on the country albums chart.
After nine years with no new album, you can bet that Clay’s fans were a bit antsy to hear some new songs from him. Well thankfully, they won’t have to wait any longer, because he just released a new album!
Titled Long Live the Cowboy, the album made its debut on January 21. Following its release, the record sat at the second spot in the top country albums ranking on iTunes.

All About Clay’s Beautiful Family
It turns out that country music fans aren’t the only ones loving Clay’s new music. His own son has made it clear that he’s enjoying his daddy’s new tunes!
While Clay and his wife, Jessica, were walking the red carpet at the 2017 ACM Awards, they viewed the big night as the perfect time to make a big announcement. Clay was seen placing his hand on Jessica’s stomach throughout the night, and he took to social media to confirm what everyone suspected…Jessica was pregnant!

The two welcomed their new bundle of joy, son Ezra, in November 2017. He joined the couple’s three children together, as well as Clay’s two daughters from his previous marriage.
Now just a little over a year old, Ezra seems fascinated by the world around him…especially if that world contains his daddy’s music!
His Dad’s Biggest Fan
In a too-cute-for-words video Clay shared to social media, he showed the priceless way that Ezra reacts when he hears his music play.
Holding Ezra in his arms, Clay told his smart speaker to start playing “Long Live the Cowboy.” At just the mere mention of his daddy’s new song, Ezra’s face lit up!
But as adorable as that reaction was, nothing beats how Ezra responded once the music kicked in. Without missing a beat, the little cowpoke started dancing without a care in the world, a huge smile plastered on his face.
Clay seemed tickled by his son’s reaction, writing in the video’s caption “There’s nothing better than when your kid’s are your biggest fan!“
We would have to agree with him!
