Former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. is proof that a successful career cannot solve all your problems.
In an interview with Graham Bensinger, Dale revealed that he and his wife, Amy, hit a rocky patch in their relationship before tying the knot. Dale and Amy both wanted to get married and have a family, but they struggled every day with disagreements.

“Amy and I were referred to this lady named Jane,” Dale explained. “And, before I met Jane, and before we went to see Jane, me and Amy were having a hard time figuring out how to make our relationship work. We wanted to be married; we both wanted to get married. We both wanted to have a family, but… every day was like grinding gears. Just a lot of tension, and disagreement, and misunderstanding.”
Thanks to Jane’s help, the couple recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary together. Dale and Amy also share two children.

“Jane was the reason why we’re married,” Dale explained. “Jane is the reason why we’re having a family, and Jane is the reason why every day is way better, you know. We don’t have the grinding gears anymore, and we don’t have the dysfunction anymore.”
Dale truly believes that without Jane’s help, the couple would not be together today. He confessed:
“We weren’t going to make it. We had the potential to be great and have a great family together but, if we didn’t have Jane, I don’t think that we would have met that potential.”
Dale could not be more grateful to his real-life fairy godmother. Check out the video below for the full interview.
