They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But when you’re imitating one of the biggest names in country music and they find out about it, it’s not always a good thing.
Country duo Dan + Shay have recently started to post videos of themselves covering other artists’ songs almost daily. Their covers range from boy band One Direction to fellow country stars Jake Owen and Dustin Lynch.
But one of our favorite cover videos of theirs is “Heartbeat” by Carrie Underwood.
It’s been viewed almost 600,000 times and one of those views belong to Miss Underwood herself. The question remains: Did she give her stamp of approval?
Turns out, she liked their rendition.
“Love this!” she wrote on her Facebook page while sharing the video. “Thanks, guys!”
Dan + Shay got the stamp of approval from Underwood as well as their thousands and thousands of fans who left positive comments on Facebook.
