The editors and producers fabricated footage of her and Blake in order to get more viewers, she claims.
The longtime girlfriend of country crooner, Blake Shelton is asserting that the producers and editors of NBC’s hit TV show, ‘The Voice’ manipulated footage of the two together so that the public would believe they were in a relationship – far ahead of when that actually occurred, Gwen Stefani says.
“They chose to run with that story before anything was even real. I hardly knew him,” she tells Cosmopolitan.
While the pair did meet on the set of ‘The Voice’, according to Stefani, their relationship started much later than the show depicted. They were both going through some high-profile divorces when the filming started and eventually connected over that, creating a very close bond.
Gwen and Blake have been dating for nearly a year now and although she says that the show’s staff had a hand in fueling rumors of their romance, the couple found it quite humorous.
“It was like it was in the air — happening before it happened,” she added, revealing “We were laughing our heads off when we saw the blind auditions. I love NBC, but they for sure edited stuff together to look like we were flirting.”
They may not have been actually flirting, but it was clear that they had a special friendship that shined through – regardless of any editing.
Stefani also tells Cosmopolitan that Blake is not one of the people that knew all the details of her split from Gavin Rossdale.
“Nobody except for my parents, the people involved, and whoever they told,” she confessed, adding that the details were so wild that nobody would believe her even if she did tell them.
What do you think of her claims?
