Ella Langley Purchases Her First House

“I’ve splurged a little bit,” country star Ella Langley recently divulged on Katie Neal’s radio show, Katie & Company. “I actually just got my first house, in Alabama.”

She added, “We’re getting there. I’m close. Haven’t closed yet.”

This subject came up in conversation when Katie asked about Ella’s sudden rise in the music industry.

With Ella now having two No. 1 songs, the first with Riley Green, “You Look Like You Love Me;” and the second being a solo track, “Weren’t For The Wind,” her eight-year journey in music is beginning to see dividends.

Prefacing her question by noting so many country musicians who haven’t hit it big fit the “starving artist” bill, living “paycheck to paycheck,” Katie asked Ella, “I always like to ask this … did you mark that with, like, a special first No. 1 purchase, or did you treat yourself to something small, something big after that?”

Initially answering by saying she treated herself to “a couple weeks off,” Ella noted she “went right back at it,” playing shows and recording music.

When she brought up getting a home in Alabama, which is where Ella grew up and went to college, first at Troy University and later at Auburn, she said, “It’s just, you know, exciting to see so many years you spend not making anything and then everything, putting it right back into what you’re doing, here.”

Continuing, she said, “To be able to kind of enjoy the fruits of your labor, for the first time, is, love it, it’s so cool.”

When asked by Katie if the house hunting process has been stressful, Ella replied, “Honestly, I’ve been having a blast. I have great business management … they figure out all the little logistics — I’m very thankful for them.”

While she did not disclose which lake her prospective home is off, she did say, “It has a horse barn on it … It’s such a special piece of property, and it’s close to my parents. I think I’ll always have to live in Tennessee, to some extent of my life, but being from Alabama, it’s so close — it’s under four hours to get there — I don’t know, it just brings me back to who I am, at the root of me. Every time I go back there, and, you know, when it comes to writing songs and being in that state of minds, I think it’s important to have a place like that.”

Katie then noted that Blake Shelton purchased some property after his song “Austin,” from his 2001 debut album, Blake Shelton, went No. 1.

Responding, Ella said, “Blake Shelton definitely has a couple more No. 1s under his belt.”

She then added, laughing, “I’m still in the phase of I’m trying to get a bus, you know? … I want a sixth band member, really bad, on stage, right now, so that’s how I treat myself these days.”

For now, she’s on tour, and will continue supporting Morgan Wallen at some of the shows on his I’m The Problem Tour.
