Morgan Wallen Performed “What I Want” With Ella Langley
Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem Tour made its second stop over the weekend, with two shows at the Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin.
The last time a concert had been played at the football stadium, it was the Rolling Stones in 1997, almost 28 years ago.
With two nights of soldout shows on June 28 and June 29, Ella Langley and Miranda Lambert opened for Morgan … but they also took the stage with him for some unique duets.
Notably, Ella filled in on Wallen’s only song he’s recorded as a duet with a female singer, “What I Want.”

On his new album, I’m The Problem, Morgan has recorded “What I Want” as a duet with a female artist, and he surprised many by recording with pop singer Tate McRae rather than a fellow country singer.
Regardless, “What I Want” has gone on to be one of the the most listened to songs from his new 37-track album, with the song spending the past 5 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 1 and presently capping off the top 3 as of June 30.
Ella Langley, who has plenty of duet experience with her hit song “You Look Like You Love Me,” featuring Riley Green, seemed to have naturally found her way into Wallen’s hip hop-infused country sound. As they took the stage together on June 28, their energy was strong, and the twang in her voice was a layer that Ella brought to the song.
Still, there was a moment that caught many fans’ attention, as it appeared Ella got lost in the lyrics at one point, with Morgan swooping in to save her — something the hip hop styling of the track almost invited.
“The way he fixed it when she messed up the words and then how He patted her to let her know it was ok and give her her confidence back,” wrote one fan on TikTok. “He so precious.”
A different commenter remarked on “the reassuring shoulder squeeze,” describing it as “cute,” with another fan adding, “He jumped in like ‘help is on the way dear’ when she messed up the lyrics.”
Their performance also compelled one fan to write, “Now I really need a Morgan and Ella duo.”
