Fans Have Been Wondering About The Fate Of Kelly Clarkson’s Namesake Talk Show

Fans of The Kelly Clarkson Show can breathe a sigh of relief, because the Emmy-winning program has been renewed for another season.

American Idol alum and former Voice coach Kelly Clarkson launched her namesake talk show on NBC in 2019. During the show, Clarkson shares some of her favorite things she sees online, interviews celebrity guests, and delivers musical performances.

The “Kellyoke” segment is wildly popular, as it features Clarkson covering other artists’ songs and giving them her own twist. She often performs country “Kellyoke” covers, singing tunes by the likes of Reba McEntire, Riley Green, and Keith Urban.

In March, Clarkson was mysteriously absent from ten episodes of her talk show. The celebrity guests filled in at the last minute as temporary hosts.

Amid Clarkson’s absence, rumors started circulating that she has considered leaving The Kelly Clarkson Show once her contract expires next year (2026).

Clarkson returned to her talk show on March 18. She eventually addressed her absence from the program while speaking about the Minecraft movie, saying:

“It was kind of a dark week for me and my family, and I got to preview the movie with [my kids]. It was such an exciting thing. So I just wanted to say thank you. It brought my kids out of, like, a sad time to like, just a normal kind of time.”

Then, in April, an unnamed source claimed to know the reason for Clarkson’s unexplained absences from her talk show. The source claimed Clarkson left to help her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who “is sick,” and she took their two children to see him.

This report remains unconfirmed by Clarkson or her team.

When Will Season 7 Of The Kelly Clarkson Show Premiere?

Amid all the rumors and reports, fans expressed concern about the fate of The Kelly Clarkson Show, and wondered if it would be renewed.

In December (months before Clarkson’s unexpected absenses), NBCUniversal confirmed The Kelly Clarkson Show has been renewed for a seventh season.

There’s an appetite in talk for stories that entertain and inspire, and The Kelly Clarkson Show is a shining star that delivers for our stations and connects with viewers across multiple generations in meaningful ways,” said Tracie Wilson, the EVP of Syndication Studios and E! News at NBCUniversal.

Deadline‘s report about the renewal noted the program only got picked up for one new season. This differs from the past, as the show typically received renewals for two seasons at a time. With rumors that Clarkson may leave after her contract expires in 2026, this made fans question if the show will end after Season 7.

Fans got some reassurance on June 26 when The Kelly Clarkson Show‘s sixth season ended. The program shared a video of some of the season’s best moments, and included some information about Season 7.

That’s a wrap on Season 6!” the caption read. “Comment your favorite moments and get ready for more fun in Season 7 coming this fall!

While an exact premiere date was not announced, the end of the video revealed that Season 7 will start in September. Watch below, and revisit some of the highlights from Season 6 in the process.
