Julianne & Derek Hough Announce Their Grandmother Romaine Heaton Has Died
Derek and Julianne Hough are mourning the death of their beloved grandmother, Romaine Heaton. They shared the sad news of her passing in posts on their respective social media pages on Sunday (March 31).
Romaine, who was 95 years old when she died, was the mother of Derek and Julianne’s mother, Marriann.
Marriann shared a touching tribute to her mom, writing:
“I will always continue to talk to you and dad on our morning walks….now I have a mother and father to always be with me, to call upon and ask for guidance and love… so long for now, sweet Angel mother…never goodbyes…”

Julianne shared a series of tributes to her grandmother on her Instagram Story. She started by sharing her mom’s post. She wrote her own message, saying, “So long for now…. Never goodybe. Rest in peace grandma. Love you.”
The dancer and actress then shared some of her favorite photos and videos of her grandmother. She captioned one video, “You get to be with grandpa now.“
Derek Hough Remembers His Grandmother In Heartfelt Tribute
Derek also shared a post remembering his beloved grandma Romaine. He wrote:
“Losing Grandma feels like losing a part of our family’s soul. She was the one with endless stories, each one teaching us something new or just making us double over with laughter.”
He ended his heartfelt post by saying:
“Grandma, you’ve given us so much to remember, to cherish, and to pass on. We miss you terribly, but we’re grateful for every second we got to spend with you. So long… for now you little stinker. You’ll always be in our hearts, making us smile. We love you.”
