DWTS Pro Cheryl Burke Suffers Head Injury Before Live Show

ABC

On Sunday (Oct. 25), Dancing With The Stars pro Cheryl Burke and her celebrity partner, Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean, were rehearsing on stage one night before the live show.

For the Halloween-themed “Villain’s Night,” McLean and Burke danced the Tango to the theme song from the movie Psycho. The boy bander portrayed the iconic character Norman Bates.

During their stage rehearsal, they were doing a sequence of their dance when Burke misstepped as she was running backwards and landed on the back of her head. In the clip they played before their performance, you could hear how loud her head hit the dance floor.

She was tended to by medics right away and because it was a head injury, extra precautions were taken.

Ironically, Burke was recently a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show and revealed all the times her celebrity partners were injured because of her.

Thankfully, Burke was cleared to dance by medical professionals and the performance went off without a hitch. During judging, she revealed that she probably hurt her rotator cuff more than her head. She also joked that she’s hard-headed, which is probably why the injury wasn’t worse.

They received a score of 26/30 and were announced safe from elimination. Watch their performance below.
