The whispers around the Internet are true! Boston Beer and PepsiCo have joined forces to combine the sweet taste of Mountain Dew and alcohol and it’s called Hard Mtn Dew!
“For 80 years MTN DEW has challenged the status quo, bringing bold flavors and unmatched beverage innovation to millions of fans,” Kirk Tanner, PepsiCo Beverages North America CEO said, according to Craft Brewing Business.
Hard Mtn Dew is expected to be available to the masses starting in early 2022. Its alcohol contents will contain 5%, which is the level of most seltzer drinks, but this drink will contain no sugar making it very popular for hot summer days.
“The fact it has zero sugar is a massive selling point for people who like to enjoy an adult beverage from time to time,” the Daily Caller said about the drink.
PepsiCo has been wanting to create a seltzer that can compete with a White Claw, Truly, or Corona seltzer, and they believe they will be hitting that goal with the Hard Mtn Dew.

Kirk Tanner said, “The Boston Beer Company partnership combines two recognized leaders in our respective industries to address the changing tastes of drinkers and we are thrilled at the opportunity to create Hard Mtn Dew that maintains the bold, citrus flavor fans know and expect.”
According to the deal, Boston Beer will develop and produce Hard Mtn Dew and PepsiCo will set up a new entity to sell, deliver and merchandise the product.
