Less than a week ago, country singer Josh Ward was performing at the KOKEFEST in Hutto, Texas. Now, he’s recovering from a horrific accident that left him hospitalized with serious injuries.
A post on Ward’s social media accounts details what happened. On Sunday (August 8), Ward was involved in an accident while riding a horse. He suffered “serious abdominal injuries and internal bleeding.”
Ward went to the hospital, where he underwent surgery to stop the internal bleeding. Thankfully, the surgery was a success. His team says he “will be in the hospital this week and will require a few weeks at home to fully recover.”
The announcement about Ward’s accident was accompanied by a photo of him in his hospital bed.

In that post, Ward’s team let his fans know he’ll have to cancel some of his upcoming shows so he can take the time he needs to recover. Ward and his team later updated his fans with a list of shows that have either been canceled or postponed.
“Unfortunately the following shows will be cancelled/rescheduled due to my accident this past weekend,” Ward said in a message to his fans. He also thanked everyone for all of the kind words they have sent his way.
“Can’t wait to get back out there on the road soon,” he signed off.
Ward told everyone to stay tuned to his social media pages and the pages for the venues he was supposed to perform at. Any updates regarding his canceled and postponed shows can be found there.
Nine shows ended up being canceled or rescheduled. It appears Ward is taking off the rest of August in order to recover. If no additional shows are affected, Ward’s first concert back will be on September 1 in Cibolo, Texas.
