The legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac has lost one of their own. The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame members confirmed on Wednesday (Nov. 30) that Christine McVie passed away.

“There are no words to describe our sadness at the passing of Christine McVie,” the band’s statement read. “She was truly one-of-a-kind, special and talented beyond measure. She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life.”

They continued, “We were so lucky to have a life with her. Individually and together, we cherished Christine deeply and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. She will be missed.”

According to a statement from her family, “She died peacefully at a hospital in the company of her family” after a brief illness.

Not only did the band as a whole make a statement regarding Christine’s passing, so did Fleetwood Mac band members. See Stevie Nicks’ heartfelt tribute to her “best friend in the whole world since the first day of 1975.”

Mick Fleetwood also released an emotional statement. He said, “This is a day where my dear sweet friend Christine McVie has taken to flight…and left us earthbound folks to listen with bated breath to the sounds of that ‘song bird.'”

He continued, saying, “Part of my heart has flown away today…I will miss everything about you.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with all who knew Christine. She was very loved.
