Just this past 2018 Veterans Day, a Southwest Airlines flight attendant honored our troops by singing “God Bless America” over the speakers of the plane. As the sweet flight attendant began to sing the tune, passengers throughout the plane joined in. Including, country singer, Russell Dickerson, who was also flying high when he joined in on the special moment.

A Patriotic Ride

Dickerson has climbed the country music charts with his hit singles “Yours” and “Blue Tacoma,” both of which have reached #1 on the Billboard country charts. Dickerson decided to head overseas with country singer Darius Rucker in March of 2018 to perform different shows all over Europe. Alongside the rising star came his band and wife, Kailey. Although the group of friends traveled all over the continent, they never experienced a flight quite like this one.

Dickerson took to Instagram to share the special moment with fans. The singer, looking cozy in a hoodie and hat, has the camera faced on him at first as you hear the singing. He starts to sing along with the flight attendant before turning the camera to see her. Turning back on himself, Dickerson harmonizes with her in a low baritone voice. With a smile on his face and a lighthearted caption, this video is sure to raise your spirits.

Flying Fans

In a hilarious coincidence, Dickerson and his wife were Southwest Airlines flight attendants last year for Halloween! It’s no wonder why this couple is such big fans of the airline.

A big thank you to our troops year-round for all they do. Wishing them all the best.
