On Thursday, August 15, America’s Got Talent star Perry Kurtz was tragically struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident.
According to TMZ, who first reported the news, Perry was crossing the street in a Los Angeles neighborhood when a gray Honda Civic struck him around 11:20 p.m. When law enforcement arrived, Kurtz was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 73 years old.
An 18-year-old male has been taken into custody as the suspected driver involved in the tragic hit-and-run incident. The arrest came after a witness alerted police to a vehicle parked approximately half a mile from the scene of the accident, which had a visibly broken windshield, according to Fox News LA.
The teenager now faces serious charges, including suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing death, as the investigation continues.
