Kenny Chesney Speaks Out After Real Estate Listing Ties Him To Luxury Property Going Up For Auction

Kenny Chesney wants to make it clear that he has no connection to a property for sale in Brentwood, Tennessee.

The real estate auction company Interluxe shared a listing for a new property going up for auction on August 19. The starting bid begins at $3.5 million.

The estate features seven acres, a fully stocked pond, a tennis court, and a guest house. The main home has five bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, and a movie room.

Interluxe’s original listing claimed country singer Kenny Chesney once owned a piece of land on the property. The company claimed this land housed a cabin where Chesney spent time writing songs.

The initial listing, which also spelled Chesney’s name incorrectly, read as follows.

The 320 sq. ft. guest cabin with one bedroom, a full bathroom, and kitchen provides additional privacy for the short or long-term guests. This cabin was imagined and built for Kenney Chesney for the purpose of song writing.

However, Chesney later released a statement denying the “blatantly false claim” he has any ties to the property. While Chesney says he once owned an adjacent piece of land, he never used the cabin mentioned in the listing.

“I once owned a small adjacent parcel of land that has been annexed,” he said. “No part of these buildings being auctioned were ever inhabited, used for writing or any other purpose by myself or anyone in my employ or orbit. I have been used as clickbait to exploit people who might care about my name, art or other aspect of life – and I have a massive problem with this sort of deception.”

Chesney continued:

“That someone issued a press release does not make it true. In fact, it just makes it actionable, as they’ve misrepresented and widely distributed a fairy tale that’s light years from reality.”

The “Half of My Hometown” singer doubled down, saying:

…I have never been inside any part of it. You will not be accessing anything that has any emotional or personal attachment in terms of my life, and I am sickened that this was warranted as such. Anyone who has reached out for that reason – please be advised, this property has nothing to do with me.

Real Estate Auction Company Issues Correction After Kenny Releases Statement

After Chesney released his statement, Interluxe issued a formal correction linked at the top of their website. It reads:

“Over several years, the seller assembled multiple parcels of land to create the Brentwood Estate, including a parcel of land that he purchased from Mr. Chesney in 2005, which contained a cabin. Although the cabin was once part of the land owned by Mr. Chesney, the claim in our press release and headline that the ‘cabin was originally designed and built for singer-songwriter Kenny Chesney as a songwriting retreat’ was based on incorrect information provided to the seller when he purchased the property in 2005. To clarify, Mr. Chesney has confirmed that he has never inhabited, used, or had any personal connection to this cabin or estate.”

Interluxe said they “deeply regret the error and any confusion it may have caused.”

The company concluded their statement by saying, “We fully acknowledge Mr. Chesney’s concerns and respect his efforts to ensure that accurate information is shared with the public.”

Although the property isn’t connected to Chesney, it’s still a beautiful estate. Take a tour in the video below.
