Dick Cheney Served As Our Vice President From 2001-2009
In 2000, George W. Bush selected Dick Cheney as his running mate during the election against Al Gore and Joe Lieberman. Bush and Cheney, of course, ended up being elected for two terms, serving as the 43rd President and 46th Vice President of the United States, respectively.

Cheney had a long career in politics, especially the White House. During his tenure as Vice President he was also the Secretary of Defense. Prior to that, he served as the Chief of Staff for President Gerald Ford, and was a Wyoming Congressman.
Vice President Passed Away On November 3
Dick Cheney passed away on Monday night (November 3), according to a statement from his family. They revealed that he died from complications with pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease.
The statement read:
“For decades, Dick Cheney served our nation, including as White House Chief of Staff, Wyoming’s Congressman, Secretary of Defense, and Vice President of the United States. Dick Cheney was a great and good man who taught his children and grandchildren to love our country, and to live lives of courage, honor, love, kindness, and fly fishing. We are grateful beyond measure for all Dick Cheney did for our country. And we are blessed beyond measure to have loved and been loved by this noble giant of a man.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Cheney’s family.
