Country music icon Garth Brooks found himself speechless when his eyes stumbled upon a sign in the crowd that left him grasping for an answer! Holding a handmade sign before the singer’s stage, a bride-to-be proudly held her artwork that bared a bold message! “You gotta explain this to me because I hope this sign is not true,” Brooks spoke to the woman upon reading her wording.
The paper sign proudly read, “I postponed my wedding to be here,” snagging the attention of Brooks who was beyond baffled that any fan would reach that extent to attend his performance. The singer noticed the woman’s bridal entourage, saying, “And your maid of honor has a sign that says, ‘You need a restraining order from her’,” as the sign sported arrows pointing to the future bride. After asking her a couple questions about her husband driving up for the ceremony, Brooks serenaded the woman with a romantic performance of his loving ballad “She’s Every Woman”.
However, the bride-to-be had one more joke up her sleeve, whipping out a sign that hilariously read, “You are my hall pass.” Brooks immediately ceased his performance as he neared tears of laughter. Once regaining his composure, he admitted,“I’m singing the wrong song for you then, honey.” With that, he broke into a smooth performance of “That Summer”, sending his audience into a wave of excitement and putting an epic grin on the fiancé’s face.
