The Country Star Sang The Stevie Nicks Hit At A Songwriters Festival
Over the past year, Ella Langley has been on tour in support of her 2024 debut album, Hungover, but she hasn’t just stuck to performing her own work while on the road.
Periodically, Ella has been known to cover Fleetwood Mac’s hit song “Dreams,” as well as “Rhiannon,” which features the vocal stylings of one of her heroes: Stevie Nicks.
Her July 4 headlining appearance at the Maui Songwriters Festival was such an occasion, but with a twist.
Typically, Ella performs these songs with a full band, but the more intimate setting of the Songwriters Festival at the Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, gave fans the opportunity to hear her sing “Dreams” with just the accompaniment of her own acoustic guitar.
She even threw in her own flair, saying, “Ain’t that the damn truth,” after singing the famous “Dreams” lyric, “Players only love you when they’re playing.”
Further, she closed out her set with the song, encouraging the audience to join in on an encore of the song’s chorus.

Ella Langley Has Been Playing “Dreams” For Several Years
There’s a video on YouTube from 2020 of Ella performing “Dreams,” with the video description stating, “Ella is pursuing a career in country music and performs around the southeast.”
Listen to this early cover of the Fleetwood Mac song, here:
In a recent appearance on Taste of Country Nights, Ella opened up about her affinity for Stevie Nicks, saying, “I grew up on so many different types of music, but probably the most out of anyone ever would be Stevie Nicks.”
She added that she would “lose [her] mind” if she got to sing with Stevie, saying, “I don’t care who wrote [our song], as long as I got to sing with Stevie Nicks.”
Until then, her Fleetwood Mac cover performances will have to suffice.
