The daughter of late legend Elvis Presley has been making headlines the last few weeks due to her ongoing divorce and a disturbing court filing, where she claims she found inappropriate images of children on her estranged husband’s computer.
Their twin daughters, Harper and Finley, were reportedly put in protective custody, but Lisa Marie’s mom, Priscilla Presley, revealed the children had been in her care the entire time.
“There is Lots of confusion, commotion and concern from all the talk circulating,” she wrote on her Instagram. “Let me put this to rest… the girls have not been in foster care and never will be. The girls have been with me and will be until all this is sorted out.”
Lisa Marie filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, Michael Lockwood, in June 2016 and is seeking full custody of their daughters. Lockwood, in turn, filed for $40,000 a month in spousal support and in Lisa Marie’s court documents opposing the request, it states Lockwood has “hundreds of inappropriate photos of children and is facing allegations of sexual abuse and neglect.”
“When I discovered the photos on [Lockwood’s] computer, and viewed the videos, I was shocked and horrified and sick to my stomach,” she wrote in the docs, according to E! News. “I had no idea that [he] had taken those photos. I will refrain from describing the photographs in detail out of respect for the privacy of my family.”
An informal investigation was launched by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and they will not file charges against Lockwood, a former studio guitarist and producer.
“Barring any new potential evidence or information, we have concluded our involvement in this matter,” said T.B.I. Public Information Officer Josh DeVine, according to PEOPLE. “We have not been able to determine a crime occurred in Tennessee and accordingly do not have an open investigation.”
DeVine stressed that the Bureau never launched an official investigation and that they “only embarked on an initial inquiry to determine if we could substantiate information with which to open a case.”
Lockwood’s lawyers released a statement saying they think Lisa Marie made these allegations as a publicity stunt, but she isn’t backing down.
She filed the court papers in California, so the West Hollywood Police have now served a search warrant “related to the Presley family”, according to PEOPLE.
Lisa Marie has also been ordered to pay for Lockwood’s legal fees, which will be around $50,000 to be paid monthly over the next five months. They have several court dates scheduled over the next few months for their divorce and their custody battle.
