Jelly Roll Shares Video Announcing His Plans To Participate In A 5K In May

Over the past year, Jelly Roll won a CMA Award, took his “Save Me” duet with Lainey Wilson to #1, and earned two Grammy nominations. Now, he’s aiming for another goal, but it doesn’t relate to music.

On Wednesday (January 10), the singer shared a video on Instagram announcing some big plans. He is training to participate in a 5K in May!

Jelly Roll explained how he felt motivated to start training thanks to YouTuber Kyle Forgeard. He was recently a guest on his Full Send Podcast, and Kyle “gassed him up” to participate in the 5K.

He also gave a shout-out to comedians Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura.

“This message is for Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura. Somebody let them know I’m in for the 5k in May,” Jelly Roll said.

He’s started walking in the woods every morning to get ready for the race.

He Previously Opened Up About His Health And Weight Loss Journey

While attending the CMA Awards in November, Jelly Roll spoke to Fox News Digital about his weight loss journey. He said he lost 45-50 pounds, and was feeling great.

I’ve been working out. I’ve been losing weight, slowly but surely. I’m about 45-50 (pounds) down coming off tour, walking into the CMAs.”

He has no real weight loss goal he’s working toward. He simply wants to prioritize his overall happiness.

I just want to keep doing the right thing and feeling better,” he said. “I’m starting to find a will to live and I wanna lean into that, that’s it. I just want to be happier.”

He added, “Weight is normally directly related to mental health, so I’m trying to get that under control and the rest is following that.”

We wish Jelly Roll the best, and hope he has a fun time training for his 5K in May!
