Kane Brown To Be Honored As The Country Champion At The People’s Choice Country Awards

The People’s Choice Country Awards will return for its second year

The 2nd annual People’s Choice Country Awards (PCCAs) will air live from the famous Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN, on Thursday, September 26th. Shania Twain will host the event, which promises to deliver “unforgettable performances, tributes, and surprises from some of your favorite country music stars.”

Dubbed the “award show for the people and by the people,” the PCCAs puts the power in the hands of the fans and empowers them to vote for their favorite artists, albums, performances, and more.

The full list of nominees was announced on August 14th.

Wynonna Judd received the first-ever Country Champion Award in 2023

At the inaugural PCCAs, Wynonna Judd was selected to receive the first Country Champion Award from the institution. Cassandra Tryon, an executive of NBCUniversal Entertainment, shared:

“Wynonna is one of the most recognized and lauded performers in country music. Not only is she incredibly talented, her selflessness and passion for putting the needs of others in the spotlight is unmatched. We can’t think of a better person to honor as our inaugural ‘Country Champion.’”

Wynonna was selected not only for her illustrious career but also for her advocacy of children, military veterans and their families, disaster relief, and more through her work with organizations like the Wounded Warrior Project and Habitat for Humanity.

Kane Brown will be named the Country Champion at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards

On September 6th, it was announced that Kane Brown will be honored with the 2024 Country Champion Award. This distinction celebrates an artist who has not only made great strides in their career but has dedicated their time to philanthropy and activism.

An executive for the PCCAs shared that it was Kane’s particular dedication to and support of younger musicians that earned him the award. Kane Brown has been a long-time champion of the Boys & Girls Club and has been actively involved in renovation projects, education opportunities, and fundraising efforts in conjunction with the organization.

At the beginning of this year, the 30-year-old also received the CRS Artist Humanitarian Award, celebrating the significant impact he had made through philanthropic efforts.

Congratulations, Kane! Tune in to the People’s Choice Country Awards on September 26th at 8/7c on NBC and Peacock.
