In a video posted to YouTube on The Kelly Clarkson Show channel in April 2020, Kelly gave an in-depth look at her family’s Montana ranch.
At the start of the video, it showed a corral of cattle with the title “Somewhere in Montana” as Kelly’s voice narrates. Kelly went on to say that they purchased the Montana ranch called “Vintage Valley” over a year and a half prior.
Standing in front of a cabin, Kelly pointed out that it is one of the cabins located on the ranch that they stay at.
Kelly explained how she loves being outdoors and both she and her then-husband, Brandon Blackstock, enjoy being in the wide-open spaces because they both grew up in the country. Due to their very busy seven-days-a-week work schedule it was nice to get away and fully “checkout” when they are able to.
Kelly said it was nice to be in the outdoors and shares that as a society we should all reconnect with nature more. She believes everyone should try and get away from the hustle and bustle, sit by a stream, hear the water flowing, and be around all the trees.
“I just love just the sound of just nature and not cars and people all on top of each other.”
Showing an outdoor fire pit with a fire going, Kelly shared that they were going to make s’mores with the kids later that day “cause Mama promised and gotta follow through, ’cause consistency…” Kelly says in a sing-song voice.
Kelly ended the video saying, “It’s a really beautiful ranch and it’s a nice getaway for our family. It’s something Brandon and I have dreamed about since we were both kids. This is what we would call home.”
Since this video was posted, Kelly filed from divorce from Brandon in June 2020. It court documents, it stated Brandon would be living in Montana.
