In March 2021, Kelly Clarkson opened up about the possibility of getting married again while talking with actress Gwyneth Paltrow on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
During the interview, the conversation drifted to Paltrow’s decision to marry TV producer Brad Falchuk in 2018 after splitting from Chris Martin in 2014. Clarkson, who is currently going through a divorce, curiously asked about the situation and admitted that she could not “imagine” tying the knot again.

“You’ve been married for two years,” Kelly commented. “Coming from someone who’s literally amidst a divorce, I can’t even imagine doing it again. So that’s amazing that you found love, and you found the space and the vulnerability—that level to say yes, and do it again. Was that hard for you?”
Paltrow confessed that getting married again was “the hardest thing” she had ever done. Still, the 48-year-old felt Clarkson would find love and marriage again with time.
“I’m actually in that place where I think a lot of people, I’ve heard, that go through divorce, it’s almost like you start dating yourself again, like you actually make time for you again, and I love dating me,” Clarkson stated. “I’m actually not looking for it.”
While Clarkson is happy spending time with herself, the “Stronger” singer did admit that Paltrow’s situation was very inspiring. Clarkson explained:
“It’s also a beautiful thing for a lot of people like me that are going through divorce that do want that in the future, to know that it can and will probably happen for you.”
