As a recording artist, talk show host, Voice coach, and mom, Clarkson’s schedule is packed. She added yet another role to her resume when she signed on to co-host the new series American Song Contest, which just wrapped up its first season.
Extra‘s Katie Krause spoke with Clarkson and her American Song Contest co-host Snoop Dogg on the red carpet for the show’s finale.
Krause asked the two of them how they spent Mother’s Day this year. After Snoop answered, Clarkson told a story about a Mother’s Day gift she received…and how emotional it made her.

“I’m a single mom, right? So I’m either at work or with kids,” Clarkson said. “So my nanny — I literally almost cried — like, she walked into the kitchen and was like, ‘Hey, for Mother’s Day, I’m going to give you the gift of time and you can just do whatever you want.’ I almost broke down, I was like, ‘What??!!’”
Snoop thought that was a great gift, saying, “No one understands how important time is.”
Clarkson agreed with him. She loved having some time to do whatever she wanted that day. “I had the best day, and it was amazing,” she said,
