If you watch Yellowstone, it’s no surprise that it’s one of the most popular shows on television.

Chris McCarthy, President and CEO, ViacomCBS Media Networks, said that Yellowstone shattered records with “more than 11 million viewers tuning into the season finale.”

He also said that the show has “hit a cultural nerve – from the center of the country to each of the coasts – and still have lots of room to grow on linear.”

Over the last few years, the show has been up for a few awards, including a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, though they lost to Succession. Prior to this year, Yellowstone has received just a single Emmy nomination, for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program (One Hour or More).

For the upcoming Emmy Award voting, the show is submitting many actors for contention, including Kevin Costner for Best Actor and Kelly Reilly – who plays Beth – for Best Actress. The Hollywood Reporter says that could be on the precipice of a ‘Schitt’s Creek’-like surge.”

The publication is referring to in 2020, when the comedy Schitt’s Creek swept all seven major comedy awards.
