Drummer and co-founder of legendary rock band Pantera, Vincent Paul Abbott, has died. He was 54.
A representative for Paul confirmed his passing through a heartfelt post shared to the official Facebook page for Pantera.
“Vincent Paul Abbott aka Vinnie Paul has passed away,” reads a statement on the Pantera Facebook page. “Paul is best known for his work as the drummer in the bands Pantera and Hellyeah. No further details are available at this time. The family requests you please respect their privacy during this time.”
Following the news of the legendary drummer’s passing, fellow rock star and longtime friend Kid Rock released a statement in memory of his dear ‘old friend’ to be shared to his personal social media.
”Tippin one back for my ole’ friend Vinny Paul tonight. Another loss. Here’s to you brother. RIP.. with your brother now. We all had some GREAT times together through the years and your rock n roll family is gonna miss you,” wrote Rock alongside a photo of his late friend.
