Lainey Wilson Offers A First Look Inside Her Eclectic Nashville Home

Lainey Wilson‘s creativity extends beyond her chart-topping music. The Louisiana native recently treated Architectural Digest to a tour of her home in Nashville, Tennessee. This is the first home that Lainey has personally designed, and says it is “literally the inside of my brain.” She adds:

“I feel like I have my fingerprints on everything in this house.”

The style of her home reflects the style of her music, with different “colors, textures, and prints.” It blends southern charm with a retro maximalist aesthetic. Unique features include custom stained glass windows, a gold glittery ceiling, handmade cactus lamp, family heirlooms, and personalized beer taps.

The landing area at the top of the staircase features many of the musician’s trophies and plaques from what has already been a wildly successful country music career. However, not all of Lainey’s trophies are in her home, as many are on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame where she has her very own exhibit.

What makes a home?

As one of the top artists in country music, Lainey Wilson spends much of her time on the road. As such, it was important to her to create a space where she can disconnect from the world and decompress. When she thinks of home, the 33-year-old says:

“It’s where you go when you feel like you need to refill your cup. It’s a place where you should feel comfortable.”

Horseshoes and feathers are prominent in her home, both symbols that are found often in her music. She jokes that her fiance Devlin “Duck” Hodges had “absolutely no say” in the interior design.

The primary bedroom in particular is a space where the singer feels that she can escape the fast pace of her daily life. The room is draped in luxurious curtains which she says help her “shut off” the outside world. A small but significant feature is an ivory horse sculpture which was handed down by Lainey’s parents and sits on the bedside table.

Inspired By Elvis

The basement of the home was transformed into a gathering place used for band rehearsal, songwriting sessions, social gatherings, and more. Lainey admits it is her “favorite place in the whole house.

The space was inspired by the iconic “Jungle Room” at Elvis Presley’ Graceland. Complete with a plush yellow couch and an elaborate bar, the room transports you back to the ’70s and creates a space where creativity and connection flow.

A Cowgirl’s Dream Closet

The “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer is known for her eye-catching style. She remembers putting on her first pair of bell-bottoms and nine years old, before they became her signature look.

I remember how they made me feel, made me feel sassy, made me feel like I could do anything.

Now, she has a custom closet to house all of her iconic looks. The wardrobe is filled with pieces from her Wrangler collaboration, vintage blouses, cowboy hats in every color, her own Golden West boots, and a collection of bolo ties that would make any cowboy envious.

“I wanted to just kind of tip my hat to the things that I love, and I wanted to create a space that felt like mine. I got to pour my heart into this, and it’s really special to me.”
