Does Lainey Wilson Want To Have Kids? – She Talks About Her Future With Theo Von
Lainey Wilson opened up about her plans for her future kids during a recent appearance on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast.
For starters, does Wilson want children? The answer is, “yes!”
Wilson previously addressed the topic of children and motherhood while responding to questions during TODAY‘s “8 Before 8” segment in 2024. “All About That Bass” singer Meghan Trainor sent in a question asking if Wilson wanted to have kids.
Wilson responded, “I do want kids one day. I’ve got some things to do, and I want some more years under my belt.“

While talking to Von on his podcast, Wilson further confirmed her plans to have kids. Von asked if she would raise her family in Nashville, and she said, “I will.“
“I think Nashville’s just a good spot. Like, even if music wasn’t a thing, I think they’ve got good schools. And I feel like you can go far out—right now you can go far out enough on any side and still feel like you’re in the country.”
She added, “I want to raise my kids like I [was], like, playing in the dirt. I just want them to be outside and do the things that we grew up doing. You know what I’m saying? And just enjoy those things too.“

Wilson Got Engaged To Devlin “Duck” Hodges In February 2025
Wilson has surely been thinking about her future kids a bit more since she got engaged earlier this year. Her longtime love, former NFL player Devlin “Duck” Hodges, proposed to her in February.
Although they’ve been engaged for six months, Hodges and Wilson are in no rush to plan a wedding.
“Well, you ain’t gonna believe this but we still have not planned it, bless his heart,” Wilson recently told Taste of Country Nights. “It just seems like everything else is getting planned [instead].”
But she and her fiancé have talked about some wedding details. They’d like to have jazz music playing at their reception, and they’ve thought about “probably riding in on some horses and riding out on some horses.“
Wilson also believes she’ll ditch her signature bell-bottoms to wear a wedding dress on her big day.
She told The Kelleigh Bannen Show in March. “We got some time, but I figured, you know what? I hadn’t worn a dress for him yet, and I guess that would be the day to do it.”
As for the wedding size, date, or location, they haven’t narrowed down those details yet.
In the meantime, Wilson is focused on her Whirlwind World Tour. The trek supports her 2024 album Whirlwind and its subsequent deluxe edition, which dropped on August 22. The deluxe version features five new songs; you can hear one below.
