Welcome To The Full Recap Of The Season Finale Of Landman
If you recall, episode nine of Landman left the audience with many questions. Would be a war with the cartel? Is someone going to get kidnapped? What will happen to Monty Miller?
The season finale answered these questions and set up for an explosive second season of Paramount+’s new hit show.
The final episode began with an open-heart surgery, as Monty teetered on the brink of life and death. After suffering five heart attacks, he needed a heart transplant. It remained uncertain whether he would survive or not.
In the wake of an unconscious Monty, Tommy is made president of the oil company. He is given full rights and has to decide about the company’s future quickly. He can either sell everything and ensure that Monty’s family has enough money, or they can gamble on this new venture that Monty brought to the table in a previous episode.
Tommy Gets Kidnapped
After Tommy talked with Cami Miller, they decided to gamble on a risky oil venture that requires fracking and all of the Millers’ money.
Tommy enlists Rebecca Falcone, the hot-headed oil company lawyer, to make this deal happen. She is hesitant because she has a moral qualm about fracking, but in the end, Tommy convinces her to play ball.

Tommy left the meeting with Rebecca Falcone and his advisers about their risky oil venture when members of the drug cartel kidnapped him.
The drug cartel and Tommy’s oil company have been at odds throughout the entire season, starting with a plane crash in the first episode, followed by a bombing in the previous episode that left many drugs obliterated, as well as one drug cartel member.

What About Tommy’s Family?
While the drug cartel held Tommy captive and tortured him, his family remained unaware of his situation and continued their daily lives as usual.
His wife and daughter threw a stripper party for the old folks home where Angela runs events.
Ainsley took it to the next level with her quarterback boyfriend as he spent the night.
Cooper made progress in his master plan to become a “landman.” He successfully signed his first lease agreement with a landowner. Cooper’s strategy involved consolidating multiple small oil drills into one comprehensive plan, as he believed the value lay in the numbers.
He returned home to Ariana, with whom he lived while looking through her late husband’s wedding album. Ariana mourned the loss of her deceased husband but shared with Cooper that she had chosen him over her past.
Tommy Saved By New Character
Galino, a high-ranking leader in a drug cartel, unexpectedly rescued Tommy. Unlike other cartel members Tommy had dealt with in the past, Galino presented as a businessman. Galino entered the scene and ruthlessly eliminated every member of the drug cartel. Following this, he met with Tommy and clearly stated that they would enter into a partnership despite Tommy’s reluctance.
The episode concluded with a touching moment between Angela and Tommy. Tommy revealed that his life flashed before his eyes during his kidnapping, but all he could see was her.
In the final scene, Tommy watched a coyote on his property, a detail that remains unexplained. However, he did say, “You better run, buddy. They kill coyotes around here.”
This only insinuates that Landman’s second season will be even more explosive.
