Lauren Alaina Performed Two Beloved Songs During The Christmas In Nashville TV Special

Country music star Lauren Alaina delivered a dose of holiday joy with two performances during the Christmas in Nashville program.

Christmas in Nashville aired on NBC on Wednesday evening (December 3). The show started at 10:00 PM Eastern Time, immediately following the Christmas in Rockefeller Center special.

Christmas in Nashville featured performances from Trace Adkins, The War and Treaty, Ne-Yo, Bill Murray & His Blood Brothers, Trisha Yearwood, and of course, Alaina. The Grand Ole Opry member performed two holiday tunes during the special.

Alaina started by offering up her version of Brenda Lee’s beloved classic, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” She sang with spirit and spunk as she covered the track, which she once called one of her “very favorite Christmas songs of all time.”

NBC shared a brief clip of Lauren Alaina’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” performance online after the show, which you can watch below.

But Alaina didn’t stop there! She kept the party going with a cheerful cover of “Jingle Bell Rock.”

Bobby Helms released “Jingle Bell Rock” in 1957. His recording inspired many covers, with notable versions coming from artists such as Brenda Lee, George Strait, Rascal Flatts, and Kelly Clarkson.

Trisha Yearwood Hosted Christmas In Nashville

Christmas in Nashville was led by host Trisha Yearwood. She performed multiple times during the program, both solo and in collaboration with other acts.

Partway through the show, she joined Bill Murray & His Blood Brothers to sing the forever-iconic track, “Blue Christmas.” (Did you know Bill Murray has a band? He does!)

When she took to the stage on her own, Yearwood sang “Cool Yule” and “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” Both songs can be found on her brand-new Christmas album, appropriately titled Christmastime.
