Welcome to the world of Luke Combs, where losing at fantasy football comes with a side of public performance!
Luke Combs has been battling it out in a fantasy football league with his high school buddies for over a decade. Last season, they decided to spice things up a bit. Whoever was unfortunate enough to land at the bottom of the rankings had to take the stage and sing alongside Combs.
As fate would have it, a scoring mishap in the final game meant that not one but two of Combs’ close friends were about to face the music—literally! They stepped onto the stage at his recent concert in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a cooler in hand (because who wouldn’t need a little liquid courage)?
Combs told the audience:
“Who knows what fantasy football is in here? I’ve been in a fantasy football league with some of my best friends from high school for 12 years now, and last year, we decided that whoever lost was gonna have to come on stage and sing with me tonight. Lucky for me, there was a scoring issue in the last game, and my two best friends in the whole world both lost. And they both have to come out and sing in front of you guys tonight.
These guys have been nervous about this for a long time.”
It became 100% clear why they were so nervous about getting on stage in front of thousands of people. These guys are definitely not great singers, but they sure delivered a fun performance!
The two friends took on Marc Cohn’s 1991 “Walking In Memphis.” Turns out, they didn’t even know what they were going to sing!
“We worked a little something up with the band,” Combs shared with the crowd. “Now, they didn’t get to pick what song they were going to sing…I want everybody to get a nice look at their blue suede shoes, because these boys are about to be walking in Memphis. Come on.”

Combs took over at the end of the song and, of course, crushed it, while one of his friends started tossing a few beers out to the crowd. You have to check this one out!
Combs shared the video to his social media with the caption:
“The stakes are high in our fantasy football league and it’s not so much about who wins but who loses. Take it away, fellas.”
