Luke Combs’ New Album Is Finally Here!

What better way to welcome the first day of spring than with a brand-new album from Luke Combs!

Combs has built one of the most successful careers in country music, with a string of albums that trace his journey from a breakout artist to established headliner.

It has been nearly a decade since Combs released his debut album, This One’s For You, in 2017. That album produced multiple chart-topping singles and quickly positioned him as a rising force in Nashville. After his debut single “Hurricane” reached No. 1, the North Carolina native went on to chart a staggering 17 consecutive No. 1 hits.

His most recent 2024 release of Fathers & Sons, marked a notable shift toward deeply personal storytelling, aligning with his own experience in fatherhood. That same year, Combs made history by becoming the first artist to have three Diamond-certified country singles from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Combs’ New Album Includes 22 Tracks

Combs first announced his new album, The Way I Am, back in January. He shared that his new project would contain 22 songs, including early released tracks, “Back In The Saddle,” “My Kinda Saturday Night,” and “Giving Her Away.”

“My Kinda Saturday Night” is a fun-loving, party anthem co-written with Randy Montana and Jonathan Singleton. In contrast, Combs’ “15 Minutes,” co-written with Terry Pendley, Rob Pennington, and Grant Vogel, takes a more emotional turn. The song is told from the perspective of a prisoner speaking to his mother from behind bars.

Combs was the sole songwriter on “Days Like These,” which is heartfelt reflection on the blessings in his life. The song is especially timely after the country star and his wife just welcomed their third baby boy last month.

When speaking to GQ about the album’s release, Combs admitted he believes there may be quite a few new fans picked up after his remake of Tracey Chapman’s classic, “Fast Car.”

“There are probably a lot of people who will encounter this album that have never encountered any of my albums,” Combs said. “The performance with Tracy brought in a whole new contingency. But I don’t think there’s anything too outside of what I would normally do. There are some things sonically we haven’t done previously, but it’s not…it’s not a pop album. You know what I mean?”

The Way I Am Officially Released

On Friday (March 20), Luke Combs’ The Way I Am was officially introduced to the world. Ahead of its big release, Combs teased fans with small clips of his new songs all week.

“Trust me, I’ve been ready for this day just as much as y’all have. Friday, we ride,” Combs wrote on Instagram Wednesday.

In addition to his previously released songs, standout tracks include “Wish Upon a Whiskey,” an emotional ballad that explains the intense heartbreak of a man turning to alcohol after failing to save a relationship and replacing hope (or a “shooting star”) with desperate reliance on a bottle to mask his pain.
