For the first time in history, Elvis Presley’s famous estate is undergoing a $137 million remodel that will leave visitors with a vastly different impression than current tourists get.
Scheduled for completion in Spring 2017, the massive facelift for Graceland will include monstrous changes to the decades-old visitor and entertainment complex that includes a 450-room resort hotel aptly titled “The Guest House”.
Graceland officials say that the new complex along with the hotel will be built across the street from Presley’s former mansion/museum and will include exhibits that highlight the late singer’s accomplishments throughout his career in music and film.
As USA Today reports, the new complex will feature six different shops, two full-service restaurants, and a multipurpose building in addition to exhibits about The King.
The new hotel is scheduled to open earlier than the other renovated and rebuilt sites, with an official date of October 27th, 2016.
