For Mother’s Day on Sunday (May 14), many country stars shared photos and messages to celebrate the mothers in their lives. Country stars’ spouses also shared their own messages on social media, honoring their wives for all they do as mothers.

Carrie Underwood‘s husband Mike Fisher is no stranger to writing cute notes to celebrate her. He often pens heartfelt posts on social media, praising her for award wins and other various accomplishments.

But his Mother’s Day tribute to Carrie is one of the sweetest things we’ve ever read from him. Posting to Instagram, Mike shared an adorable photo of Carrie holding on to their two-year-old son, Isaiah, while the little boy fished in a pond. Although you can’t see Carrie or Isaiah’s face in the photo, you can tell how much love they have for each other.

Mike made his love and admiration of Carrie clear in the caption to his photo. He also took the time to honor his own mother, Karen, thanking her and Carrie for being such great influences in Isaiah’s life.

Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife and my mom!” Mike wrote. “Isaiah and I are very fortune to have amazing moms that love us and pray for us everyday [sic]!

Isn’t that the sweetest thing?

When it came to her Mother’s Day tribute, Carrie took the comical route, She shared an old picture of her and her mom, Carole, which shows them laughing together. Although Carrie admitted it is “an awful picture” she said she loved it because it shows “real life.”

“It’s not shot in any studio…we’re not all gussied up in our Sunday best…heck, we couldn’t even manage to fully open our eyes…life is silly and messy and beautifully imperfect,” Carrie wrote. “And it all started with this woman!

It’s clear that Carole raised Carrie well, because now she is a wonderful mama to little Isaiah!
