In May, Miranda Lambert released a new album with her friends and frequent collaborators Jack Ingram and Jon Randall. Titled The Marfa Tapes, the album was recorded in Marfa, Texas and has a raw, acoustic style.

Each song was recorded in one take, and includes mistakes and bits of conversation between Lambert, Ingram, and Randall. You can also hear the sound of the campfire crackling in the background.

The album includes fifteen tracks, including new versions of the previously released songs “Tequila Does” and “Tin Man.”

Lambert, Ingram, and Randall have gotten together a few times to deliver some live performances of their songs. In April, they performed the song “In His Arms” on the ACM Awards.

Then, when the performers for the CMT Music Awards were announced, The Marfa Tapes trio’s names were on the list. Fans eagerly waited to see which song Lambert, Ingram, and Randall would perform during the ceremony on Wednesday night (June 9).

The trio ended up singing the longtime fan-favorite, “Tequila Does.” Keeping in line with the raw, rustic nature of The Marfa Tapes, Lambert, Ingram, and Randall delivered a stripped down performance in front of a campfire.

Head below to watch Lambert, Ingram, and Randall’s performance at the 2021 CMT Music Awards. We never get tired of watching these three sing together!
