As if those announcements weren’t exciting enough, the nominations for the ACM Awards were announced on Thursday (Feb 10).

Chris Young leads the nominations with seven, followed by Walker Hayes, Miranda Lambert, and Chris Stapleton, with five nominations each.

The nominations alone have made history.

Lambert is nominated for Female Artist of the Year for the 16th consecutive year, tying Reba McEntire’s record from 1983-2017. Along with making history in this category, Lambert is also nominated for Entertainer of the Year alongside Carrie Underwood, making it the first time in eight years that two women have been in this category the same year.

Co-host Jimmie Allen is up for Male Artist of the Year, making him the third black artist in history to receive a nomination in this category. Charley Pride was nominated for Male Artist from 1969-72 and Darius Rucker received a nod in 2010.
