Morgan Wallen Sparks Controversy After An Appearance On SNL
Country superstar Morgan Wallen was the musical guest on the March 29th episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL). He performed two of his latest songs, “I’m The Problem” and “Just In Case,” but what happened at the end of the episode had people talking.
Just before the credits rolled, Wallen stood beside host Mikey Madison as she thanked the audience and closed out the show. Then, instead of staying and mingling with the cast as has become customary on SNL, Wallen quickly hugged Madison and walked off the set. Watch it below.

The move sparked confusion and, in some cases, anger from fans. Many noted that the exit was odd, and some called it rude or disrespectful.
A short time later, the Tennessee native posted an Instagram story displaying his view from an airplane window with the words “Get me to God’s country.”

“Get Me To God’s Country” Merch Released
The phrase “Get me to God’s country” exploded online and was used in endless social media captions and memes. Many wondered what the musician meant by making the post. Was it a stab at SNL or New York City, where the show was filmed?
In the following weeks, neither Morgan Wallen nor his team commented directly on the SNL visit or the subsequent speculation.
However, on April 1st, the 31-year-old shared a post from Club Wallen, the “Official Fan Destination For All Things Morgan Wallen,” announcing “Get me to God’s country” merchandise.
The collection included t-shirts and hats, which were available for preorder on Morgan Wallen’s website.

Morgan Wallen Speaks About The SNL Controversy for the First Time
Now, more than a month later, the “Last Night” singer appeared as a guest on the Sundae Conversation with Caleb Pressley YouTube show and cleared up the controversy in just a few words. Pressley asks:
“Seriously, SNL, did they make you mad?”
“No,” Wallen responds, “I was just ready to go home.” He adds that he had “been there all week.”
