Morgan Wallen Gets Audience On Their Feet During “You Proof” Performance At CMA Awards

In 2021, Morgan Wallen was banned from attending the CMA Awards. He was also banned from receiving any personal nominations for awards, but his collaborative works (songs that other people worked on and his album) were still eligible.

This ban came one year after he took home New Artist of the Year at the 2020 show.

Now, one year later, Wallen is welcome at the event, so much so that all his bans were lifted. In fact, not only did he perform tonight, he’s also up for Male Vocalist of the Year and the coveted Entertainer of the Year.

The 56th Annual CMA Awards marks Wallen’s second time ever performing at the legendary awards show. His first time came in 2020, with a moving performance of his song “More Than My Hometown.”

At this year’s show, he performed “You Proof” and got the whole crowd on their feet! Wallen released “You Proof” as a promotional single on May 13, 2022 and dropped it to country radio two months later. It became the singer’s fifth single to debut at the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
