A Sign for Morgan Wallen’s Bar & Restaurant Gets Installed In Downtown Nashville

After reconsideration from the Nashville City Council, Morgan Wallen’s bar officially has a sign out front.

In June of this year, Morgan Wallen opened his restaurant and bar, This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen, on Nashville’s famous Broadway strip.

However, problems came up before the business even opened its doors. Unlike many other bars owned by famous country singers on Broadway, Wallen found himself in a dilemma when the Nashville City Council voted against allowing a neon sign to advertise the building.

The plans for installation were denied after a 30-3 vote, following legal troubles Wallen faced earlier in the year. At the time, most of the council felt that his legal issues deserved consequences.

Since then, Wallen has pleaded guilty to the charges he faced, which include two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment after throwing a chair off of the roof of Eric Church’s Chiefs bar.

Police reports revealed that the chair landed a few feet away from three officers standing on the sidewalk below. After witnesses told police that Wallen had thrown the chair and surveillance footage confirmed it, he was taken into custody and released the following morning after posting a $15,250 bond.

As a result, he has been ordered to spend seven days in a DUI education center. Additionally, he will be on probation for two years.

But earlier this month, the issue of Wallen’s bar sign was brought back to the city council for reconsideration. After some discussion, the installation of the sign was approved through a 30-1 vote, according to The Tennessean.

The 20-foot neon sign made its debut on Thursday, December 26.
