The longtime duet partner and very close friend of country legend Kenny Rogers has shared her heartbreak and devastation over the loss of someone who was such a big part of her life.

Dolly Parton, who is a classic country queen herself, had a very lengthy part of her career built alongside Kenny Rogers. The two released chart-topping singles like “Islands in the Stream” and “Real Love” together along with various television specials and duet performances.

Over the years, Kenny and Dolly would meet up and sing together and would often help each other out on various projects. One of those happened to be Kenny’s 2013 project for which they released a duet called “You Can’t Make Old Friends.”

All-in-all, Kenny and Dolly shared many moments on stage and off stage together. Through this, they built an everlasting friendship that could never be broken.

Learning of Kenny’s passing this morning when she turned on the news was a shocking and heartbreaking moment for Dolly – as she explained in a video shared to her social media.

“Well, I couldn’t believe it this morning when I got up and turned on the TV, checking to see what the Coronavirus was doing,”

“And they told me that my friend and singing partner, Kenny Rogers, had passed away. I know that we all know that Kenny is in a better place than we are today, but I’m pretty sure he’s going to be talking to God some time today if he ain’t already, and he’s going to be asking him to spread some light on a bunch of this darkness going on here.”

“I loved Kenny with all my heart…And my heart is broken. A big ol’ chunk of it has gone with him today. I think that I can speak for all his family, his friends, and fans, when I say that I will always love you.”

Like Dolly, our hearts are broken and we are keeping all of Kenny Rogers’ family, friends, and fans in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
