On Monday (August 8th), Olivia Newton-John’s husband, John Easterling, announced that she had passed away at her Southern California Ranch surrounded by family and friends at the age of 73.

“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer,” Easterling wrote on her official Instagram page. “Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the @onjfoundation.”

Stockard Channing (Rizzo)

“I don’t know if I’ve known a lovelier human being,” Stockard shared in a statement to multiple news outlets. “Olivia was the essence of summer—her sunniness, her warmth and her grace are what always come to mind when I think of her. I will miss her enormously.”

Dinah Manoff (Marty)

“As many will tell you, Olivia Newton-John was one of the kindest, most generous souls ever to grace the earth, and I was one lucky Pink Lady to have spent time with her during the filming of Grease.”

She added, “She brought light and laughter wherever she went. My deepest condolences to her family and friends during their time of great loss.”

Barry Pearl (Doody)

Pearl gave a tearful interview to 9 News Australia after the news of Olivia’s death broke. He explained that he found out about a week ago that she wasn’t doing very well and made sure to tell her how he felt about her.

He said that she signed all her emails with, “Love and Light, Olivia.”

He said he wrote to her last week and said, “YOU, Liv, ARE the ‘love and the light.” He continued, “And, simply….that is exactly what she now is…more than ever.”

Michael Tucci (Sonny)

“She was a treasure to me and my family,” he shared. “She was so incredibly sweet and gracious to everyone she encountered. I grieve for her family, and for John [Travolta].”

It seems Olivia Newton-John was loved by all, and everyone – especially her Grease cast members – are hopelessly devoted to her.
