The ’90s-era boy band is back in the studio, but this time they appear to be working on a completely different genre of music.
The Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter and Brian Littrell took to social media letting fans know that they were headed toward a country music debut…but where did that come from??
According to Littrell, the band is “doing something [they’ve] never done before” and according to him, they’re teaming up with one of the most popular country duos in modern country music – Florida Georgia Line!
Following the trail of a few cryptic Instagram messages, they show that they are indeed recording new music, and working in the studio on at least one track.
We’re unsure if he’s talking about his band’s own album, or the FGL album that’s already slated for release on 08/26, but what we are sure of – is that sometime in the next couple of months, we will get to hear the product of this unique and curious pairing.
FGL isn’t a stranger to the Backstreet Boys’ music – in fact they even performed one of their hits during a recent concert and it sounded like the audience was loving it!!
Nick Carter also took to the social site and appeared to confirm that their new recording was going onto the FGL album and not his band’s own.
So, what does this mean for Backstreet Boys’ upcoming album? Are they sending a message that they’re going country?
Well, it just so happens that Mr. Carter has been visiting Nashville recently. Just a few weeks ago, he was featured on FGL’s Instagram account during CMA Fest and captioned with the hashtag “scheminup”.
