On April 17, 2020, in Stamford, Connecticut, the police department got a call about a domestic pig wandering around the neighborhood while everyone was inside adhering to the stay-at-home order.
The department put out a message over the radio that the pig was spotted near Roxbury Road so Officer Michael Nguyen, Officer Louis Vidal, and Officer Nicholas Gelonesi drove out to the location to see if they could find it.
After patrolling the area for a while the officers finally found the pig on Winding Brook Lane. However, when they tried to capture it, it tucked tail and ran off. For 45 minutes straight they tried to catch the animal as it darted between their legs, dashed around them, and made the officers laugh.
Finally, one of the policemen grabbed a trash can and used it to catch the critter. The pig was tiring out, and it tried to run past him but the officer turned the can upside down and used it to cover the pig.
One of the policemen was wearing a body camera that recorded the hilarious chase. The department posted the video to their Facebook this past Saturday and you can watch the video below!
Note: no officers or pig were hurt during this incident. Also, the police are still looking for the owner so if anyone has any information on who that is please call (203) 977-4437.
“This little piggy went to the market, this little piggy stayed home… this little piggy ran away from the police!” Stamford Police Department CT wrote on Facebook.
