Elvis Presley was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi. He died just 42 years later, after becoming a global superstar.

Today, Elvis’ legacy lives on through his music, movies, and his Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee. Graceland celebrated what would have been his 89th birthday on January 8, 2024.
Per usual, Graceland had an elaborate cake made for the occasion. The multi-layered cake featured gold, orange, and teal decorations, including a guitar, a microphone, and a miniature “Sun Records” vinyl.
Graceland shared a picture of the cake on its social media pages, and wrote, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELVIS!” in the caption.

This Marks Elvis’ First Birthday Since His Daughter, Lisa Marie, Passed Away In 2023
Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, attended his birthday celebration at Graceland in 2023. It was one of her final public appearances.
Lisa Marie died just four days later, on January 12, 2023, at the age of 54.
Following her death, Lisa Marie was laid to rest in Graceland’s Mediation Garden. Elvis, his parents, his grandmother, and Lisa Marie’s son Benjamin Keough are also buried at the estate.
Fans noted how celebrating Elvis’ birthday was different this year without Lisa Marie.
Priscilla Presley Pays Tribute To Elvis On His 89th Birthday
Elvis’ ex-wife and Lisa Marie’s mother, Priscilla Presley, paused to remember him on what would have been his 89th birthday. She shared a short, but sweet tribute on social media, writing:
“Elvis would have been 89 today. While he isn’t here with us today, his legacy lives on. Happy Birthday, Elvis!“
