Reba McEntire’s son, Shelby Blackstock, got married on February 12, and his wedding was straight out of a fairytale.

Shelby proposed to his longtime love, Marissa Branch, at Walt Disney World’s Epcot in 2020. The couple loves visiting Disney World, and Marissa refers to herself as a “Self-proclaimed #Disney Princess” in her Instagram bio.

So when it came time for the couple to say “I do,” they returned to the theme park for their nuptials. They were married in front of Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella castle at night.

Following the wedding, the new Mr. and Mrs. Blackstock rode around Magic Kingdom in a carriage designed to resemble the one from Cinderella. The pair later shared their first dance as a married couple to Kacey Musgraves‘ “Butterflies.”

When it came time for the mother-son dance, Shelby and Reba danced to one of her own songs. That song was 2005’s “You’re Gonna Be (Always Loved By Me).”

The song is told through the voice of a new mother who just welcomed her firstborn child into the world. She is scared she’ll make mistakes along the way, but is hopeful about what life has in store for her beloved child.

As Reba sings at the end of the song:

You’re gonna fly with every dream you chase. We just have to believe things work out like they should. Life has no guarantees, but always loved by me. You’re gonna be, always loved by me.”

Since Shelby is Reba’s only child, the lyrics of “You’re Gonna Be” surely resonate with them both. It was the perfect song for them to dance to at his wedding.

You can see a few photos of Reba and Shelby dancing below. This must have been such an emotional moment for them.
