Reba McEntire recently expressed her excitement and gratitude for Kelly Clarkson’s performance of her hit song “Till You Love Me” on her “Kellyoke” cover series.
Kelly Clarkson’s cover of “Till You Love Me” paid homage to McEntire’s 1994 release from her album Read My Mind. The song tells the story of a woman patiently waiting for her partner’s love and affection.
It became a fan favorite with its powerful vocals and emotional lyrics, reaching number 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
Below are the chorus lyrics for “Till You Love Me.”
“The sunlight, the moonlight are beyond my control /
And there are stars in the heavens that I’ll never hold /
But if dreams give you power /
Then I’m strong enough to offer my heart /
And never give up till you love me /
Till you love me.”
Taking to social media, Reba McEntire, 69, expressed her delight and appreciation for Kelly Clarkson’s rendition of her beloved track. She shared a clip of Clarkson’s performance and wrote:

Given their personal history, Clarkson’s decision to sing McEntire’s song was an especially significant moment.
Their friendship dates back to 2002 when they performed together during the season 1 finale of American Idol. The bond between McEntire and Clarkson grew stronger over the years, especially as Clarkson married Brandon Blackstock, the son of McEntire’s former husband, Narvel Blackstock.
In June 2020, Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from her husband Brandon Blackstock.
During a 2021 interview with Extra, McEntire emphasized her affection for both Clarkson and Blackstock.
“I am pulling for both of them. I hope they’re happy and healthy and pull through this.”
McEntire made it clear that she didn’t plan to take sides in the breakup, expressing her love for Brandon as her stepson (McEntire split from Narvel in 2015 and is now dating boyfriend Rex Linn) and her deep friendship with Clarkson.
“I pray everyone gives them the encouragement that they can because they need it right now, both of them do. I love them both with all my heart.”
It is truly heartening to witness both artists maintaining their close and supportive relationship with each other.
