At just 12 years old, Jamie-Lee sure knows how to turn on the sass!

She definitely needed it during her performance of the iconic song “Harper Valley PTA” at the Blacktown Show Talent Quest in 2009.

Jamie-Lee sang the classic and humorous story of a recent widow, Mrs. Johnson, who receives a letter from the Harper Valley PTA scolding her behavior and parenting techniques. Mrs. Johnson was having none of this so she marched down to the PTA meeting and gave them a piece of her mind, while insulting each and every one of them along the way.

Jeannie C. Riley, the song’s original singer, won a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and a CMA award for Single of the Year, along with several other nominations.

Jamie-Lee’s impressive performance earned her a spot in the finals of the talent show. Although she did not win, she proved she was a great storyteller and had the whole audience eating out of the palm of her hand.

She gave some extra sass at the very end. Watch her performance below.
