To say that life is getting exciting for Scott McCreery would be a huge understatement! McCreery, who won the tenth season of American Idol, is gearing up to wed his long-time girlfriend Gabi Dugal. In the midst of all the wedding planning, Scotty is preparing to release his third studio album, Seasons Change, in March.
“It’s by far my most personal album I’ve had out yet,” McCreery told The Boot. “I’ve got a song, ‘Five More Minutes,’ for my granddaddy. I’ve got a song I wrote the week before Gabi and I got engaged, but I knew it was coming up. I’ve got a song about my guys back home that I grew up with,” he adds. “Every song is kind of a life story. I’m excited about it.”
But, that’s not all he’s excited about. As of Saturday (February 24), McCreery has his first number one song with “Five More Minutes”! Scotty shared the news on social media along with video of him and Gabi celebrating with a happy dance and some wine.
In addition, McCreery is teaming up with Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores for a video contest that will allow his fans to be a part of a new “Five More Minutes” video. “In anticipation of Scotty McCreery’s new album Seasons Change, which will be released on March 16, 2018, Cracker Barrel and Scotty McCreery invite fans to pay tribute to the people they would stop the clock for if it meant they would get to spend five more minutes with them,” the press release reads. “Submit a video of you spending time with the person that means that much to you and tell us why you miss them for a chance to be featured in this special music video.”
